About Us

Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) is the Information Technology Backbone for implementation of GST in India. It primarily provides common and shared IT infrastructure and services to Central and State Governments, tax payers and other stakeholders. The common GST Portal developed by GSTN (www.gst.gov.in) functions as the ‘front office’ for taxpayers. The IT systems of CBIC and State Tax Departments function as ‘back offices’, i.e. the interfaces for tax officers to handle functions such as registration approval, return scrutiny, assessment, audit, adjudication etc.
